We’ve hosted a Christmas party for the past few years, which of course frantically puts me on the hunt for a large batch cocktail the week before. Thanks to Pinterest and a little hunting through the depths of the internet, we came across this recipe. This is nothing new; it was a recipe printed by Southern Comfort back in the 70s… but some of us weren’t around to make party punches in the 70s so it was new to us 🙂 This one is SUPER simple to throw together at the last minute, and has a lot of room for variation.
This recipe obviously leaves room for some variation. How much cranberry? How much Sprite? It’s all up to you. (Sorry, by the book recipe followers) If it helps, we used about half of a bottle of cranberry juice and one or two of those tiny cans of Sprite. Looking back, I think we could have used a little more Sprite with how sweet this mix is! This punch would also be super pretty with an ice ring with some orange slices and cranberries frozen in it! We made this punch to go in a drink dispenser, so there wasn’t room for ice. We just mixed everything up at the absolute last minute so that the frozen mixes could keep it all cold. I recommend adding the Sprite just before serving so it doesn’t lose the fizz!
Also, this recipe would be great with as little or as much SoCo as you feel like adding. We added around 3 cups (or close to 750ml) but depending on the kind of night you’re trying to have you add less or a lot more! It tastes pretty much the same no matter how much alcohol is in it, so mix responsibly 🙂 Even our whiskey hating friends liked this one!
Cheers to having a great holiday season with family and friends!
